Satul Verde - Romania

Our Romanian host was Satul Verde, who took us to the Apuseni Mountains, a highly forested area where locals earn a living from the forest. Here participants experienced the close connection between people and trees on a practical level, as they photographed how wood is used to make tools, houses, bridges, barrels, and to smoke food. They also made a wooden musical instrument and learnt how to play it.
