Woodland Inspirations - Britain

In Cumbria, NW England, participants learnt from Woodland Inspirations even more different forest uses, such as recreation, conservation and biodiversity. Here the focus was on special individual trees and their cultural significance, which was demonstrated in the veneration of a single ash tree within the 'Long Meg and her Daughters' stone circle. From the many drawings, pictures and art works produced by local participants and visitors alike we could see that the Green Man also has a current role, i.e. watching over forests & trees to ensure that they are sustainably used.
